Kingsport’s Fifteenth Sculpture walk will debut in April 2026 and will run from April 2026 to April 2028. This year’s focus will be Land Art in conjunction with the 250-year anniversary (or semi-quincentennial) of the founding of the United States of America. Artists were encouraged to consider the heritage and history of the land, or to submit pieces that interact playfully with the ground. In tandem with the theme, these pieces are installed along Kingsport’s Greenbelt in a 1-mile walking trail.
The Sculpture Walk is a program where the city leases sculptures from artists across the country to put on display in the greater downtown area. This year, Kingsport Cultural Arts is bringing five new sculptures to the Model city.
The sculptures can be found at the following locations:
- “We Are the Current” by Jessica Bradsher, on Domtar Park island
- “Arc of the Moral Universe” by Ray Moore, at the Riverfront entrance to the Greenbelt
- “Bear Went Over the Mountain” by Jim Gallucci, along the Greenbelt
- “Lastdance” by Hanna Jubran, near Riverwalk Park
- “Alabama Octet” by Daniel William Millspaugh, by the underpass past Riverwalk Park
